Lovely as a Tree Reflection Technique

30 Oct

Materials Required:  Acetate, brayer, watercolor crayons, aqua painter

To create the reflection, stamp your image on cardstock, then stamp your image on acetate.  Lay the acetate image, ink-side down onto the cs beneath your first stamped image and brayer over the top.  You now have a reflection.  Watercolor as desired.

Halloween Calendar

28 Oct

Although it’s a little late to be creating a Halloween calendar (unless you make it for next year), I just wanted to share with you my creation.  I saw the original of this at a swap at convention this summer and created my own take on it.  Unfortunately I don’t know the original creator…if it’s you, let me know so that I can give you credit!

Inside is the calendar.  I created this with excel and laminated it so that I can use an expo marker on it and then wipe off.  On the left is a pocket with various items that can hold pictures, dates, or recipes.

Big Shot Top Note Owl Treat Bag

23 Oct

Yet another use for that fabulous Big Shot die, Top Note. In addition this makes great use of the following punches…
1. Scallop Circle
2. 1″ circle
3. 3/4″ circle
4. Star
5. 1/4″ circle
6. Both the oval and small oval
7. 1 1/4″ circle

The stamp set used with this is Owl Together Now.

Cupcakes are for Everyone!

22 Oct

This card uses the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp. I had to have this giant stamp even though it was originally designed to make a cut thank you note for young children. I just opted to use markers to ink my stamp so that I could omit the saying. I also chose to crimp the cupcake bottom for a more realistic look. This card also uses crystal effects on the cherry and sprinkles for extra fun. In the background, I used the cupcakes wheel. By the way, don’t forget that this stamp is 20% off with a $20 purchase this month!

Doll Punch Card

19 Oct

This is a simple punch card using the following punches…

1. Word Window
2. 1 3/8″ Circle
3. 1/4″ Circle
4. 1/8″ Circle
5. Star – small
You’ll also need a black fine-tipped marker.

For fun, on the inside using a small alphabet, you can add the saying…”You’re a doll”.

New Twist on the Scallop Edge Punch

16 Oct

This card uses the Pocket Silhouettes and our new scallop edge punch. The cardstock used is the Pink Piourette and Chocolate Chip as well as the Pink Piourette Designer Paper.

To create the background square you will need a 3 X 3″ square of the pink and the chocolate chip.
1. Punch all 4 sides of the chocolate chip in the middle of the edge.

2. Rotate and punch the remaining 3 sides the same way.

3. Mount this on the 3 X 3″ square of the pink CS.
4. Stamp your image on a 2 X 2″ piece of CS and then punch the corners using the Ticket Corner punch.

5. Mount on your larger square and finish the card.

Halloween Scrapbook Layout

15 Oct

This 6 X 6 layout is really simple to create. The key is to roll the Frightful Fence jumbo wheel on the bottom of a strip of paper and then cut out along the top of the fence. This allows you to tuck the picture behind the fence.

Stamp Sets: Halloween Frights, Frightful Fence jumbo wheel
Punches: 1 3/4″ circle, My Way, Photo Corners
