Oh Happy Day!

5 Mar

g2I’ve really just begun using the hexagon hive thinlits die.  It creates a wonderful backdrop.  With this card, I actually cut the hexagon hive twice, once using black card stock and once using the Kaleidoscope designer series paper.  It’s really very easy to do.  But one big heads up….ALWAYS USE A LAYER OF WAXED PAPER WHEN CUTTING WITH THE HEXAGON HIVE THINLIT!.  By putting the waxed paper between the die and the card stock you will save yourself a lot of headaches!

2photo 1So what do you do when you want to use a number of fun toys all at once?  You put them all on the same card of course!  I ended up loving this card by the time I was finished with it.  The banner framelit actually goes over both the front and back of the card.  I’ve prepared a written tutorial complete with pictures for your convenience.  Just click the link below.

I’ve Finally Entered Social Media

3 Mar

I’m happy to announce that thanks to today’s snow day (I can’t believe we had another one), I’ve finally entered the realm of social media with my stamping…Facebook to be specific.  I’d love it if all of you would like to join me there as well, if you haven’t already.  To get to the page, just search Kathy’s Stamping World on Facebook.  If you’re so inclined, you can like the page as well!  I’ll be sharing different things over there so you won’t want to miss it.

Stipple Flower Die

2 Mar

I’m always amazed at just how elegant cards turn out when using the lattice die.  This card is very simple once you get the hang of making the stipple die flower.  The key there is to spritz the spiral that has been cut with alcohol and then wad it up before you start to wind it.
