27 Jul

Creating for the men in your life can be a daunting task sometimes, but not with this set.  The possibilities are positively endless!

Also featured on this card is my favorite toy from the new catalog…the Banner Triple Punch.  If you haven’t seen this little baby in action, you’ll definitely want to check it out!  It allows you to punch 3 different size banner tails at the same time.  The 3 widths of cs that fit in the punch trays are 1″, 1-1’2″ and 2″.  It really makes layering banners a cinch!

No Bones About It…Stamping With This Set is Fun!

24 Jul

I haven’t giggled like a little kid when stamping in a long time, but this particular set made me do just that!  Something about stamping with these cute dinosaurs made me smile!  I can’t wait to give these cards to my nephews on their next birthday!  Below is the same card, just a different color card base.  The ONLY thing that takes time on these is fussy cutting the brontosaurus.  If you’d like to see some more samples with this fun set, hop on over the SSInkspiration.

Simple Watercolor Technique

15 Jul

Today’s topic on SSInkspiration is watercoloring.  Now I like quick and simple and often times watercoloring is not associated with quick and simple, but this card couldn’t be any easier!  I had originally seen this done on my good friend, Melissa Stout’s (aka The Stamp Doc) blog.  After trying it just once, I couldn’t get enough of this technique!

with watermarkDirections:

1.  To begin, place drops of ink refill in a small dish/bowl/paint tray.
2.  Stamp the saying of your choice in Versamark on the Shimmery White CS and emboss in White using your heat tool.
3.  Spritz the Shimmery White CS with water.  Don’t be afraid to be too generous with the water…you can always wipe it off
later.
4.  Pick up refill ink with your aqua painter and brush on the wet card.  Repeat this process with all colors until you achieve
your desired look.
5.  When finished, either allow to dry naturally or use your heat tool to speed up the process.
6.  Punch the butterfly from Vellum Cardstock and adhere to the dried card.
7.  Add some rhinestones for a little bling.

That’s all that’s too it!  I hope you enjoy doing this technique as much as I do!

Single Layer Cards

8 Jul

Single Layer Cards are great in a snap…but in my opinion, not the easiest to design.  Here’s a design using the new set Watercolor Words….love this set!  Note:  I did have a little bit of a second layer as I added a cut-out of the flower…couldn’t help myself!  If you’d like to see some more single layer cards, be sure to check out the other designs at Stylin’ Stampin’ Inkspiration.

So, after designing the single-layer, I had to try dressing it up, too.  Here’s the result!

Hope it’s a “hit”!

3 Jul

Many of you know that during the summer, I’m spending my weekends traveling to see Haley play softball.  This year, she’s playing with a great group of girls and we’re headed to a 4th of July tournament.  I just had to make some treats for them.  When I showed them to Chris (who’s home for the weekend…yay!) he said, “many, that must have taken a lot of time.”  And thanks to the Big Shot, I got to answer….Nope!  It was actually very quick.  I have to admit, I pulled out my old wheels though to make it go faster (really miss those.)  So, here’s the finished product.
