Mystery Supply Challenge

26 Aug

So the designers over at SSInkspirations decided to have a little fun this month.  Each of us sent someone 3 items that the receiver had to use in a project.  It was a lot of fun.  Thanks to Sara Grafton for my fun little items.  Here’s what she sent….

And here’s what I created….

All I did was added a little bling and the thanks from the Greetings Thinlits.  I like the way it turned out.  If you want to see some other designs, be sure to hop on over to Stampin’ Stylin’ Inkspirations to see what the others created!

Butterfly Card

19 Aug

This was the first bundle I played with when the new catalog came out.  I just love that there’s matching framelits to cut out the butterflies and a new, matching folder.  This card is a straightforward card, I hope you enjoy it.  Other cards featuring butterflies are shown on SSInkspiration today.  Be sure to check them out!

This fold is truly addictive once you’ve tried it.  I actually gave this card to my nephew for his birthday  (Happy Birthday, Nicolas!) and everyone at the party opened and closed it to figure out how it worked!  It was fun to watch.  All the details on how to make this are below.  And if you’d like other fun fold ideas, be sure to check out what the other designers have created over at SSInkspiration today!

SSInkspiration August Card Sketch

10 Aug

Today I played along with the SSInkspiration Card Sketch.  For those of you unfamiliar with card sketches, they are just basically ideas for laying out your card.  You can change shapes and add to the layout, but you use it as a basis for your card design.  Here’s the sketch for today.

August Sketch

And here’s what I did with it.  I decided to change the squares and rectangles to hexagons and added a butterfly and some seam binding and  voila!

Wonderful Washi Tape!

5 Aug

Pull…stick….tear/cut!  That’s it, that’s all you need to know about Washi Tape.  Today, over on SSinkspiration we’re featuring projects with Washi Tape.  My contribution is below.  There’s nothing to this.  All I did was use the Bohemian Designer Washi Tape.  (I love the colors, Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry that are used in this ensemble.)  138386S

Next, I chose to cut the washi tape instead of tearing it.  After it was down, I embossed the Congrats over top with the white embossing powder.  To finish it off, I added some Night of Navy seam binding.
