Best Birds Card

3 Aug

I’m normally not a bird fan…in fact there have been a few bird stamps that have freaked me out!  But, I love this Best Birds Set!

And what’s even better….it has matching framelits.  No fussy cutting! (You’re welcome!)

Today over on SSINKspiration the designers are featuring Sympathy cards.  I thought this card would make a great sympathy card.

To color the bird I used my aquapainters and ink in the lid of the stamp pad.  For the background, I used the woodland embossing folder inked with crumb cake and just closed the crumb cake card stock inside.  I didn’t emboss it.

Make Your Own DSP

27 Jul

There are some great stamp sets that have stamps that just scream….”Use me for Backgrounds!”  Birthday Fiesta Is one of those! This is a great set and using that llama just makes me happy!

Today on SSInkspiration Blog, the designers have used stamps to create their own DSP (Designer Series Paper).  Here’s my contribution.   I used the twisted banner stamp to create my DSP.

Wedding Card with Sponge Brayer

22 Jul

I love the combination of Black and Silver and White.  I think it’s classy for weddings.  This card was actually pretty easy to do as I used the sponge brayer over top of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper and magically the image appears….it’s wonderful!

To get the silver wording, I used versamark ink and silver embossing powder.  To keep the “shine” going I accented with the silver foil sheets and finally, tied off a bow with the 1/8″ Silver Ribbon and added a few rhinestone jewels.  Now all I need is a wedding to pop up!

If you’re in the mood for some more “shiny” cards, check out what the other designers have created today on the SSINKspiration Blog.

Oh how I wish I were at the beach….but I guess this is going to have to do!  Today over on SSINKspirations the designers are featuring Beach/Fun Cards.  You’ll definitely want to check them out.  Since I don’t have a beach stamp set, I decided to create a beach, a little ocean and some scenery.  The only problem is it made me want to be at the real beach even more!

Mother’s Day

19 Apr

It’s not too early to get your Mother’s Day cards in order.  Today on SSINKspiration the designers have some terrific ideas to get you started.  I’ve been dying to use the set I chose today, Birthday Blooms and after I played with it, I know it’s going to become one of my favorites!  I do have to warn you, however, I chose to use a saying from the stamp set I received in this month’s Paper Pumpkin.  It was an awesome set, but if you’re not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I’m sorry! (But note, if you’d like to receive a surprise stamp set and some awesome projects on your door step, you can click below and subscribe or contact me and I’ll get you all set up!)

Rose Wonder Catalog Bundle

7 Apr

Today on SSINKspiration the designers are featuring Occasions Catalog Bundles.  I must say the Rose Wonder stamp set and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies make up one of my all-time favorite bundles!

Rose Wonder Bundle

Both of the cards I’m sharing today are sympathy cards.  While these are my least favorite to make, unfortunately I often find that I’m in need of these.   Of course both of these cards could be used for other occasions if different sayings were used.  This first card couldn’t be simpler.  Just stamp the frame and saying, then cut out the flower and frame.  I used dimensionals to mount the saying.20160406_192948With this next card, I cut out the flower 3 times…one time in black, one time in melon mambo,  and one time in pink pirouette.  To get the leaves, I actually stamped the flower with leaves from the set and then cut them out.  To put the card together, I attached the leaves tot he black frame then glued the black frame down and pieced in the various pink pieces.  The saying is embossed in black.
